The Rutledge Gallery at Winthrop University is a clean, modern space inserted into a pre-existing, ornate architectural housing. The implicit assumption upon entering is that viewers will focus on what is happening on its white ‘art’ walls. With this large-scale drawing in tape and vinyl, I have superimposed the unique architectural features back onto the gallery walls, drawing attention to the complexity of perception, attention, and memory.
