Staircase Project
The Staircase Project is a site-specific, temporary piece that extends views of a staircase onto the walls of its landings through lines of tape. Because of the viewer’s mobile point of view, the perspective at times comes together ‘accurately’ and at others distorts into abstract line as one climbs the stairs. By introducing linear perspective into a situation it was not meant for (a moving viewer and a 360° picture plane), the piece plays with anticipation, disorientation, and the unfolding of alternate views.
